Due to the increasing workload of government officials around the topic of menstruation, the Tantramar council has unanimously approved of a new Menstruation coordinator. “With the calls for menstrual products in men’s washrooms, Menstrual Hygiene Day events such as raising of the “Period Flag”, and wearing of the period bracelet, it’s all become too much to deal with. So we all agreed that a specific government position and point of contact is sorely needed,” said councillor Allison Butcher. “Ideally the role will be filled by a person who menstruates.”

Councillor Mike Tower also added, “Menstrual equity is becoming as big of a concern as climate change, so it’s only fitting to have a coordinator since we already have a climate change coordinator.”
